If you’re visiting Gandia, one place you shouldn’t miss is its most iconic landmark: the Ducal Palace.

It was once the residence of the Dukes of Gandia and the birthplace of Francisco de Borja in 1510, who later lived there as the 4th Duke of Gandia. His room and the death mask made after his passing are still preserved.

The palace has played a key role in the history of Gandia almost since the city began. In 1323, Prince Pere de Ribagorça chose this site for his residence after receiving the town of Gandia from his father, Jaume II, as it stood on the highest point of the city. Over time, this residence evolved into what is now the Ducal Palace.

Built, expanded and restored over seven centuries, the palace brings together Gothic elements from the 14th and 15th centuries, Renaissance features from the 16th century, Baroque transformations from the 17th and 18th centuries, and Neo-Gothic reconstructions from the 19th and 20th centuries. After nearly a century of neglect and looting, it was acquired at public auction by the Society of Jesus in 1889. In recent years, with the support of foundations and public institutions, major conservation and restoration work has been carried out.

From what time can I access my room? Do I need to let the hotel know if I will arrive late?

Rooms are available from 4:00 pm. If you expect to arrive after 6:00 pm, it is best to let the hotel know in advance so reception is aware of your arrival.

What are the restaurant opening hours?

The usual dining room schedule is: breakfast from 8:00 am to 10:30 am, lunch from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm, and dinner from 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm. As these times may vary depending on the season or daily hotel operations, it is advisable to reconfirm them at reception during your stay.

How does the birthday promotional code work?

The birthday code is sent by newsletter on the day of your birthday to registered customers who have activated promotional communications. It is valid for 7 days from the date it is sent and can be used for new bookings with stays taking place within the following 12 months. It may be used once only, for one room, does not include additional services, and cannot be combined with other offers or the RH customer discount.

Are drinks included in the board basis booked?

As a general rule, drinks are not included in Half Board or Full Board. In some hotels and specific rates, house wine and water for guests over 60 are included. If the hotel offers an All Inclusive option, the included drinks will be specified in the conditions of that plan.

According to the current information published for RH Riviera, the hotel has parking with limited spaces and the price is available on request. Parking can only be arranged on arrival at the hotel.

No. Electric scooters are not allowed inside the hotel, nor may they be charged or parked within the property. Their charging or parking is also not permitted in the outdoor areas.

What are the check-in and check-out times at RH Riviera?

Check-in starts from 4:00 pm on the day of arrival, and check-out must be completed before 12:00 noon on the day of departure. The chain also states that it tries to have rooms ready earlier whenever availability allows.
